New Planning Reforms a Positive Step for Wales
New planning rules reforming permitted development rights and providing additional flexibility to mobile operators are welcomed by the mobile industry. Changes to be implemented in April 2019 have already been in place in England and Scotland since 2016, and it is welcome that Wales is delivering on its Mobile Action Plan to ensure it has the foundations in place to help build the mobile connectivity that businesses and residents demand.
Hamish MacLeod, Director at Mobile UK, said:
“Changes to the Welsh planning regime were a central part of the Mobile Action Plan for Wales and we welcome the announcement that reform will be implemented this year. Mobile operators are committed to building world class connectivity and it is essential that Wales has the flexibility to ensure that operators can roll out their networks quickly and effectively.”
