#MeetTheChampions With Stacey McAdie, South London Partnership
The latest video from our #MeetTheChampions series features Stacey McAdie, Digital Connectivity Lead at South London Partnership.
In this blog, Stacey outlines her role as the Digital Connectivity Lead for the South London Partnership, a sub-regional collaboration of five London boroughs (Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames and Sutton). She explains how she acts as the intermediary between the councils and the mobile network operators, helping to build collaboration, understanding, and awareness to support the rollout of mobile connectivity for residents and businesses.
She discusses that as part of her role she attends ward councillor meetings to communicate and build understanding about any concerns residents may have about mobile masts. Often this can involve raising awareness about the technology and how it works. As part of these meetings, she ensures that the local authorities are privy to the benefits of the mobile infrastructure and how they can relay this information back to their residents.
Stacey further describes the importance of building collaborations within and across councils in the wider South London area.
In addition to this, Stacey reiterates the vital role that digital connectivity champions can play in engaging with the telecommunications industry. In her final answer Stacey explains how she uses her role to build relations with the industry and what more can be done.
