#BetterConnectedRural: Mobile UK Initiates Rural Connectivity Week

Across all areas of the UK, even the remotest, mobile connectivity plays a fundamental role, providing a positive impact on businesses and everyday life. To raise awareness and showcase the benefits of mobile connectivity to rural areas, Mobile UK has brought together information and stories from all over the UK highlighting how mobile connectivity enriches and enables communities and businesses in even the hardest to reach areas.

To explore this further and spotlight case studies in which mobile connectivity is being utilised in rural locations, this week we are launching our Better Connected Rural campaign!

Throughout this week we will be posting and sharing content using the hashtag #BetterConnectedRural. The campaign will kickstart with the latest Live Better Connected Podcast episode, featuring mobile operator Three UK’s Chief Network Officer Iain Milligan to explore how mobile connectivity is transforming argi-tech and how it is even bringing benefits to areas where there are no people.

Following this, our Director of Policy and Communications Gareth Elliott, brings us along on a trip to South Uist in a special vlog episode. During this trip, Gareth had the opportunity to meet with a local resident, Council leader and helicopter pilot to discuss the importance of connectivity and how it is installed in such remote areas.

To support the Better Connected Rural campaign, we have partnered with Good Things Foundation, DMSL and the mobile operators who will each be sharing content across social media platforms and websites. Be sure to follow our campaign hashtag #BetterConnectedRural across X and LinkedIn to keep up to date with our latest content.
