Today Mobile UK launches its new video series, #Talking5G, as part of the #5GCheckTheFacts campaign.

This series will feature people from across different sectors who will discuss their thoughts on 5G and highlight how it will benefit their industry and wider society.

Principal analyst and founder of Assembly Research, Matthew Howett, kick starts the series.

Matthew is a renowned analyst in telecoms, media, and technology with an interest in understanding how mobile connectivity impacts players across multiple sectors.

As part of his video, Matthew offers an insight into the work Assembly Research has been doing, including investigating how governments and regulators around the world are making 5G available for consumers. In this inaugural video Matthew explains how the UK is spearheading developments in 5G technology, which has put the country in a ‘leadership position’.

Matthew also discusses why research into public opinion is so pivotal for the future of 5G, while also outlining the trends he is noticing that have come about because of 5G. He further offers insight on where he thinks 5G can have the most impact.
